Japan Producer Prices Change

Producer prices in Japan decreased by 4.2 percent year-on-year in May of 2016, the same pace as in April and matching market forecasts, preliminary figures from Bank of Japan showed. Export price index dropped by 4.5 percent from a year earlier while import price index was down by 13.1 percent. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.2 percent. Export price index was unchanged from the previous month while import price index rose 0.3 percent. Producer Prices Change in Japan averaged 1.46 percent from 1961 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 33.90 percent in February of 1974 and a record low of -8.60 percent in August of 2009.
